The Muster at Calth Progresses

As we head towards the rumoured Nov release date of the next Horus Heresy game, I took the opportunity at the weekend to construct and undercoat the remainder of my Betrayal at Calth box set.

Along with some bits I picked up, I now have the full set contents plus a 4th Squad of MkIV Marines to make up the army.

Now if only there weren't Cultists on the way as well...

Bits Box Cultist Preparation

So,with the new Genestealer Cult being released, what can I do as regards adding more Neophytes and basic cultists?

 

Simple, raid the bits box and see what can be bashed up with what looks like a large amount of spare bits from the Neophyte box.

 

As a result, I have standing by:

 

The Dark Vengeance Cultists

Some old Rogue Trader IG plastics

Spare Catachan bits

Legs and torsos from the Maelstrom's Edge freebies from Salute



 

Who Isn't Stoked By the Idea of Some Cultist Action?

I must admit I'm curious as to what the armoured car/ buggy will look like in model form.

Painting Or The Great British Bake Off?

Painting of course.  I catch up with Bake Off at the weekends!!

Two and a half Squads under way with two others on the top tier at the undercoat stage only.

I do however, also have the beginnings of a Horus Heresy UM force.  There is a third MkIV squad half constructed and I'm looking forward to the apparent MkIIIs in the upcoming Prospero boxed game so I can have a mixture of III and IVs in a squad.

Xenos Sighted!!

Something different in my Blog.

Hidden away amongst the painting progress are two Xenos creatures.  How fortunate that I've started putting together the Cult from the Overkill box just as the Codex Genestealer Cults has been announced.

Other than that, it's a second squad of Horus Heresy UMs plus a third wheeled Taurox for my Greenjacket veterans.  I'm definitely benefiting from others selling on bits of the Start Collecting boxes.

Tunnelers Inbound





Mantic released an update for the Warpath Kickstarter on Friday that included a first look at the Veermyn Tunnelers.

 

You may remember I jumped in for three of these so I could have an alternatively transported Armoured Fist platoon.

 

Well, those troops are painted up and hopefully, they'll have their mounts in the next couple of months.

So, In Between Work, Cycling and Binge Watching 'Parks and Recreation'....

....it's time to use the away from home back up paint station to crack on with another platoon.

At the moment its weekends to put stuff together (looking at you Kill Team, Betrayal at Calth and Deathwatch Overkill) with the Mon - Thu period to do some painting.  Anything to avoid worshipping the one eyed god (screens of various size) once I've finished the daily cycle.

Plus I have to avoid the heretical thoughts the Tau squad from Kill Team are putting in my head. Thoughts like "A box of Pathfinders and the Start Collecting : Tau box might be nice".
