Ventrillian Noble Reinforcements - Kasrkin Equivalents

I have no idea if this is legal.

Regular followers will be aware that I am on a second iteration of a Ventrillian Noble army.  The first effort was a primarily Infantry force.

This new variant has more variety.  They have a Gorgon, Ogryns, Heavy Ordnance weapons and will soon have a Crassus, at least one Rogal Dorn and some Chimeras.

They will also have an elite Kasrkin-style squad.

These models are the GW plastics with 3d printed Vicroria Miniatures sc-fi Winged Lancer heads.

 

Stop The Press! Sci-Fi Highlanders

New from Wargames Atlantic Tribe.

Death Fields Highlanders.  I already have the order in with Kirton Games to print out 20 of the bodies.

 Initially I'll be mix and matching with the Bulldogs pith helmet heads but I may go full Highlander in the future.  I'm tempted to try them with left over Kasrkin hotshot lasrifles but will likely end up using Cannon Fodder weapons with them.

Grimdark Space Gurkhas- Trial Colour Scheme.

I will admit.  I'm lazy.

Contrast is the way ahead.

Gurkhas wear a nice Rifles Green for their current ceremonial/ old fighting uniform.  Dark Angels Contrast if is then.

Webbing, respirator, putters are Snakebite Leather. The lasrifle furniture is Cygor Brown.

 Four more to paint up and 15 more to order from Kirton Games. 

Next?  19th Century Royal Navy in Spaaaaace. Time to put the order in.

Grimdark Space Gurkhas

3D printing is opening up a lot of hobby potential.

I have purchased the Gurkha stls from Wargames Atlantic (WGA) but rather than going for the full Victorian era set, I contacted Kirton Games for a special request.

As the historical WGA models are slightly smaller than the Death Fields range, I asked if the Gurkha bodies and the gasmask head could be printed at 105% to try and capture that Heroic 28mm scale.

Job done.

I've tooled them up with WGA Cannon Fodder lasgun arms.

A comparison of the 105% printed Gurkha with a kitbash Les Grognards/ Bulldog WGA not-Terrax Guard.

 

Grimdark Bengals Trial Paint Scheme

Do I try Averland Sunset or Contrast Nazdreg Yellow for the jackets.

This is the Averland Sunset scheme with a wash of Agrax Earthshade.

The Nazdreg Yellow.

 I've decided on the Averland Sunset.

Grimdark Bengal Lancers

I even managed to get the models undercoated after this photo and before the storm hit.

Thanks to another set of prints from Kirton Games and allied with Sikh heads from the Warlord Games Eighth Army set, the Victoria Miniatures Rough Riders are now sci fi Bengal Lancers.

Time to dig out the Averland Sunset yellow or find the Contrast equivalent.

 

The Ventrillians Get A Super Heavy

Although GW have OOP'd the Empire Pistoliers, I have managed to find a decent haul of Pistolier heads from bits sites and auctions.

So much so that I have decided the 3d printed not-Gorgon I purchased will belong to the Nobles.

There is some tidying up to do plus I'm deciding which other parts will be blinged with gold paint but, by and large, the model is there.

I have decided that any future Ventrillian vehicle crews will use non-feathered heads.

 

Rough Rider Trial Paint Scheme

I'm staying away from Redcoats for the Rough Riders.

Instead I've gone for the Contrast Leviadon Blue for trousers and tunics.

I haven't decided what colour horses to go for.  I must do some research but the Contrast Space Wolves paint may look OK.
