Convicts!

It was back to the Cannon Fodder kits at the weekend to use up some of the other heads that come with the kit.

Although there are no GW rules for Penal Legionnaires at the present time it's always fun to have another project on the go. 

That's ten jump suited convicts built with one overseer constructed from a spare Les Grognards model equipped with a peaked cap from the Fodder set. The walkie-talkie will double up well as an explosive collar activator!

The Contrast orange settles well on the convicts.  More this weekend.

 

New Headquarters

Terrain time.

I completed the base coat for the Imperial Guard HQ.   The base is a cut to fit hardboard drawing board purchased from Hobbycraft for a fiver.

All done with sprays.   Chaos Black followed by the standard grey for the exterior and Leadbelcher for inside.

The interior is a bit spartan but I have some spare Rhino control panel bits that could jazz the  place up.

 

Macrocosm Not-Squat Space Dwarves

Due to being away with old PCs that can't handle modern graphics, I wasn't able to respond to the survey post the Macrocosm Kickstarter until just before Christmas.

That issue has been resolved and I've received the goods.  More Space Dwarves inspired by the Rogue Trader Squat quilted jacket look.

 Unfortunately, I missed the most recent Kickstarter buy will be looking out for more in the future.

Aggressive Griffons

 I'm now on the final stretch before returning to work next week so progress will slow.  I managed to build the Imperium sub Aggressors and paint them in their Howling Griffon colour scheme.

I'm deciding on Battle Sisters or the Omnissiah's Talon box for hobby time next week.

The Praetorians have moved in for scale.  The ceiling is too low for raised swords or rifles but hey! beggars can't be choosers.

 

The Howling Griffons

I must admit to feeling my age a little bit and the last 7 - 8 months of  being away from home with some loooong working periods has led to me just enjoying some more sitting around, reading and doing nowt days.

As a result, progress on the Griffons has been slower than I like but, here we are, with a Captain, Lieutenants, a Librarian and two five Marine Intercessor squads complete.

Contrast wins again.  I'm not sure I would have ever gotten around to doing these with standard red or yellow paints.

 As can be seen in the background, a standard Librarian left over from Conquest is awaiting the Grey Seer undercoat.  I need to check the Imperium poster to see if an Ancient is included in the sub otherwise I'll need two of the upcoming new Primaris Ancients.

New Year, Old Model.

Another victory for Contrast paints.

Yarrick has been undercoated since the model was released.  I just never felt the inspiration.

Too much flat black I suppose.

I do like the Contrast black paint though.  I use Basilicanum Grey for metal parts.

One short evening plus 18(?) years later and Yarrick is ready for the fray.
