Ding Ding - Adeptus Mechanicus Round Three

This will be my third iteration of an Adeptus Mechanicus army.  I kept getting bored with them and passing them onto make space in the cupboard.

This time, it was caused by a surplus of hobby funds, a need to support my FLGS as the reatil outlets open and them having both the Dunecrawler and Skorpius versions of the Start Collecting box on the shelves.

That said, it's always nice to have some elements from all of the Imperium's fighting arms.

So far, it's one squad of Rangers (5 Skitarii) and two squads of Vanguard.

And the winner is...ME...hooray!

I'm keeping the initial job simple on the Squats.  The main uniform is the Ultramarines Blue Contrast with Basilicanum Grey for the gloves and boots.

Details on the models and helmets will likely be some form of Gold or Brass type. Or a mixture of both.

Even More Infantry!!!

We all know the feeling.

You look through the pile of shame and find those projects that were started and were then pushed back due to the New Shiny.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Squat  Overlords are back.  Taking full advantage of the weekend's weather, these have been Grey Seer undercoated as I have a plan and it involves GW's one coat paint!

Now, this is one Platoon that there likely only be twenty-five strong.

Sun's Out, Spray Can's Out

The good weather struck just as I was getting ready to have a day out with some members of my family who have spent the best part of the last four months closed up in a terraced house.

That said, there was enough time to spray up the remaining twenty infantry and the members of the Mortar equipped Heavy Weapons Squad.

More Imperial Guard

Once more I have ended up with the creeping worry that I don't have enough Imperial Guard infantry. I seem to have a natural aversion to not having 55 strong Platoons.

Hence I have started the process of adding another 20 Guardsmen to the Ventrillian Nobles section.

The majority of these are easy build Cadians picked up for a relatively cheap price.  The repeat of three body types doesn't particularly worry me for a horde army.

Blood Pact Kitbashing

I've been indulging my eeeevil side today by starting a planned twenty odd Blood Pact conversions.

The first model has the arms plus legs from a Wargames Atlantic Les Grognards with the torso removed.  This has been replaced by a Curious Constructs Renegade torso and head with a Victoria Miniatures lasgun.

The backpack is made from greenstuff pushed into a blue stuff mould.

The second is an easy build Cadian with Les Grognard arms, a Vic Minis lasgun and Curious Constructs head.

Further accessories are a Grognard pouch with a Catachan knife.

Back In The Swing

I've finally been able to get back in to the hobby swing after ten weeks out.  The first item on the agenda is to use the Pistolier heads that I purchased to finish off the mortar heavy weapons teams.

As I picked up four boxes of Pistoliers along with four bixes of the easy build Cadians, the plan is to bring the Ventrillian Noble Platoon up to a full five squads along with the Mortars as an add on.

As you can see, the bits box is ready to go and the squads will also receive their swords being a mixture of wither the GW ones or the extra swords that came with the two Agincourt Command sprues I bought from the Perry Brothers website.

That was all I managed in the 48 hours I had at home before heading back to work.
