In my mind, the most exciting models inside Blackstone Fortress are the Renegade Guardsmen. Two squads of seven are provided and I think these are promising in so many ways. Mainly, the chance that these could end up being a line that GW expands into 40K and the promise that the quality of the plastic sculpts has towards any new Imperial Guard lines. These are superior in so many ways to the current, very cluncky in comparison Cadians.
As a massive Gaunt's Ghosts fan who has just ploughed through the series of books in anticipation of the final novel, The Anarch, being released, there was only one choice (well two really) for the colour scheme:
Blood Pact and Sons of Sek. Two distinct, professional and hard core organisations that rival the Imperial Guard in ways that roving bands of pure loonies ever could.
Although monopose and lacking the distinctive features of the literary versions (grotesque masks or moulded/ real hand mouthpieces) I realluy am looking forward to there being more of these.
Maybe another set from eBay with cultist heads as provided by Kirton Games' Curious Constructs range.....?
