Praetorian Imperial Guard Muster Pt X: Other Praetorian Regiments

As much as I love the Praetorians, red and black can get a little tedious at times.

Being inspired by the 24th Foot, I decided to look at other schemes from the history of the British Army for the odd side project when painting my models.

First up, the Tunnelers.  The khaki based scheme was inspired by British WWI uniforms and came from my Kickstarter purchase of a pile of Mantic Veermyn Tunneler war machines.  As a fan of the comic strip Charley's War, I was aware of the British mines, especially at Ypres, and the story of the Claykickers. This was due to the method of digging used by the mining soldiers at the time.  The Veermyn machines have now been sacrificed to the eBay gods to make space and build up the hobby slush fund.

British Imperial campaigning in Sudan inspired the next Platoon.  The colours are loosely based on the Camel Corps used by Kitchener in the attempt to reach Khartoum.

The most recent addition is loosely based on 19thC Royal Marines.

Now, moving on to the Veteran squads.  This uniform was inspired by the cavalry Lancer uniforms and works on my lazy painting of utilising a black colour scheme for my Praetorian armour.

These Veterans (no longer supported by rules) are the dedicated troops attached to the superheavy Stormlord.

Finally, the Greenjackets. These are inspired by the new rifle equipped Light Infantry set up in the Napoleanic Wars, more specifically the 95th and 60th Rifles. These four squads utilise wheeled Taurox carriers to gad about the battlefield.
