The Death Guard Advance

I'm feeling quite chuffed with myself.  Taking full advantage of the recent time off, I've cracked on with all of the outstanding Death Guard from the Conquest subscription.

The army as it stands is arrayed in full below.  Please note that I have purchased some extra issues along the way, especially where I felt there was some extra value for money, hence the three Blight Haulers.

Lord Felthius is the current Boss, at least until some more Lords arrive over the rest of the sub.

He leads one cohort of Terminators as his bodyguard with a second set acting as an independent band.

This bellringer or Noxius Blightbringer was in the latest delivery.  I picked up a second of this issue to have some spares but the bell is just so good, I mounted one on a Rhino.

The Malignant Plaguecaster blowing out his best (or worst) foulness.

A Biologus Putrifier.

A Foul Blightspawn.  Love the names!

The second squad of Terminators. AS I'm too tight to splash out on the multipart versions, they are probably lacking in the most powerful, optimum weaponry.

Aaah.  The main troops, Plague Marines.

By and large, at present, these consist of multiple versions of the easy to build figures.  By buying multiple issues and investing in alternative bits from eBay sellers, I've managed to create some diversity between the squads.  AS you can see, I've also played around with some additional Blightbringer parts.

The second squad.  You can see the doubles occurring here but by adding some green stuff to cover the belly mouths, clipping off growths and playing around with different arms, I believe I've managed to create enough variation

The second Rhino with growths and a bell added.

The final, for now, Plague Marine squad and their Rhino.

For those of you with a collection of hatches from previous projects, issue 27 of Warhammer:Conquest is an absolute steal as it gives you a Rhino for £7.99 plus P&P.  Even better, if you find an issue of the Forbidden Planet site, it's only £7.49.

One large mob of Poxwalkers!

Well, that's it for now.  As the next couple of deliveries arrive, I won't be around to take action on them straight away.

Courage and Honour

I decided to play catch up with the Ultramarines Primaris re-inforcements.

Sometimes I enjoy the relative simplicity of painting Marines.

As you can see, I'm trying for some variation with the Apothecaries. One is going to be in white armour with the second primarily in blue.

Hobby Fun Is Piling Up

A new Conquest delivery this morning has brought me up to date with Issue 34 and these Nurgle chaps.

Unlike every other issue so far, these are in the usual grey plastic rather than the green, blue or brown that have been included so far.

First things first, chinchilla dust for the bases.

Medic!

Courtesy of Forbidden Planet, I've bought two Apothercaries for £7.49 each rather than the £22 plus mainstream GW price.  I must admit that if it wasn't for Conquest I would probably never have branched into Primaris character models.

Although the body is monopose, I've tried to vary them by using the two head and left hand options.  I may even go for two different colour schemes.

A Jump Back To The Death Guard

Back to the Conquest pile!

The finishing touches need to be added to the Death Guard and then it's on to the Primaris.

Reporting For Duty

That's the first twenty-five completed.  Another thirty to go.  They will be saved for another day though.

More fun in the sun to have on this Bank Holiday first.  After that, Ultramarines catch up or some more Death Guard as I need to get on top of the Conquest deliveries before another work driven absence from home.

Back To The Coal Face

A temporary stop to the wanderings gives me a three week window to make some progress.

This time I'm looking at the latest additions to the Praetorian horde.  The more the better as it looks like GW will be publishing a new version of Apocalypse soon.

Than again, the weather is glorious at the moment.  Priorities may change.

Enjoy the holidays if you're on them. Enjoy yourselves as much as you can if you're not.

Chaaaaarge!

I liked the trial run so much that I pushed ahead with some more Ventrillian Rough Riders.

Not having rules in the current IG Codex gave me a little more freedom with the squad, making it more of a modelling/ painting project.

Who knows?  In the future I may add a gang of special weapon armed Riders.
