Prepping The Sororitas

There is more time away from home lined up so once again, I've prepped a travelling bag of items to work on slow time.

On this occasion, it's Sisters of Battle.

Along with the initial box set release, I've had the first delivery of the multipart range.

I ordered one box of Battle Sisters (10 models) and the five model Retributor box.

I have used these to create 2 x 5 Sister Retributor squads and a unit of 5 Celestians.

Shown below are the two Multimelta equipped Retributors.

As the standard Sisters box contains a Heavy Bolter and Heavy Flamer, the second Retributor squad has three Heavy Bolters.

Finally, the Celestians. These use the Sister Superior, Standard Bearer and three other models from the Sisters box. I have equipped those with meltas and the scope equipped Bolter.

Additionally, if you weren't aware, the box comes with fleur de lys adorned helmets to distinguish the Celestians from a standard Sister.

Finally the Cherubs.  Who wants nightmares?!!

A Not-Baneblade Joins The Fray

Now I have had one of these before but I converted to a Blood Axe tank before selling off all of my Ork models.  Had to make space for Sisters see.

An eBay auction threw up a mass of bits that gave me enough for a full 3d printed Superheavy and another that could be built without sponsons unless I find some more bits.  Failing that, it gives me some spare track sections and weapons for other projects.

AS you can see from the photos, there is no confusing with the actual GW product.

It is smaller and less detailed.

If, however, you are not tied into official competitions or GW stores, it is an alternative.

GW's own background states that some Forge Worlds produce Baneblade copies that do not matc those made by the prime Forge Worlds or Mars, mainly because they have lesser quality materials or incomplete STCs.

The printer lines are visible but the tank will add some extra oomph in whole army photos.

To misquote Father Ted, it's not smaller but it is further away!

The Armoured Power Of The Guard

Whilst the colour scheme I originally chose for my Praetorian armoured units was intended to offset the massed redcoat infantry, it is also extremely quick to finish off.

Hindsight eh?

That's me upped the game with the additional three Leman Russ variants. I did start to feel that I was concentrating too much on the foot soldiers without going into the Guard's other strength.

Later, I'll be showing off the new Superheavy or possibly Heavies.

I've Put Them On The Back Burner For Too Long

Due to a paucity of Guard related releases, I haven't focused on my main gang for a while.

Time to put that to rights.  This time, rather than troops I'll be expanding Team Praetorian's armoured might.

First up is the Leman Russ variants from the Apocalypse Spearhead box.  Not shown is another Chimera and an extra treat I found on eBay. Dependant on progress, they'll be shown tomorrow.

New Year, Finished Project (Mostly)

Ten more issues left of Warhammer Conquest and, as far as the Death Guard side goes, there is only some Spawn and a Tallyman to go.

I'm not too bothered with the Spawn but below is the (almost) finished army.

The majority is from issues of Conquest with the exception of:

A Terminator squad from a Kill Team expansion.
Space Marine Heroes Series 3
The GW exclusive 3 Plague Marine set.
Nurgle Daemons Start Collecting box.

Apologies but this post is a bit pic heavy.

Typhus and the Terminators.

The Rhono with the addition of a bell from a second Blightbringer.

A second more boring Rhino. This one I have plans for involving green stuff and the spare feedimg tubes/ nozzles from the Plague Drone Daemons.

A selection of Death Guard Heroes and Champions.

The Series 3 Space Marine Heroes.  Top models. Look out for them when they hit the UK.

Various Plague Marine squads.

Heavy Support.  This might need some more jazzing up. Maybe some spare Nurglings as passengers.

A shambling mass of Poxwalkers.

Unfortunately, there are another twenty of these to be built up....
