Howling Griffons Trial

I'm using Ckntrast paints for the Griffons.  A new White Dwarf article has them being undercoated with Retributor Gold spray but I'm going for yellow not gold.

I'm happy with this trial with an Intercessors Sergeant so it's nose to the grindstone to crack on with the rest.

Cannon Fodder and SciFi Foreign Legion

For those of you after generic science fiction troopers or convicts, space men, Imperial Guard proxies I can recommend the Cannon Fodder boxsets from Wargames Atlantic.

I've built my first 26 as basic troops and equipped them with some left over Les Grognards heavy weapons and an Einherjar grenade launcher.  A quick lick of paint and you're ready to go.

As per the other Death Fields boxes, these come with a multitude of heads consisting of enclosed space. hazmat helmets, peaked caps, helmets (as shown) and bare shaved heads with a technical looking collar.  Mind control or an explosives device?  It's up to you.  I'll build some more with variant heads so they can be judged.

Further variety can be acheived by buying the upcoming Death Fields accessory sprue which includes an alternative rifle and spiked helmet heads with gasmasks.

I've a;so succumbed to the temptation and built some of my last Les Grognards as French Foreign Legion in Spaaaaace.

Ghosts And Guns

That's the first projects for this spot of timeout complete.

Gaunt's Ghosts are a nice, characterful set of models.  It does seem abut strange to have a HQ choice available with one troops go go with it but who knows what we'll see in the future.

Also available now are the new Artillery pieces all ready to join jn with the Praetorian 24th.

Next up is an attack on the twenty plus Cannon Fodder models.  Let's see how they work out with some Contrast paints.

More Space Warrior Nuns

The latest Kill Team boxes have certainly given us new options.

First, plastic Death Korps of Krieg and now Novitiates, a new class of Battle Sister in training.

How could I resist, especially with the Sisters backlog of Sacresants, Paragon Warsuits and a Castigator yet to be built?

Let's not forget the Sanctum especially as I appear to have bought two by mistake.  That may become a two story complete bulding rather than a ruin, especially with the extra sprues from the Chelnath box set.

Back to the painting for tomorrow.  Time for a Christmas period production line again.

It Was A Good Day, An Imperial Guard Day

One of the problems with being away for a long time, with no opportunity to get out and about,  was the lack of willpower to avoid spending online.

As a result, I am finally the proud owner of Basilisk and Manticore artillery vehicles.

Oh, let's not forget the new Krieg and Tanith models.

Fortunately I have enough heavy weapon team models without heavy weapons to be able to crew up the Basilisk's platform.

Redemptionists or Priests

I'm not a player of Necromunda but the latest Cawdor additions were too good to resist.

Lovely models and the Imperial Guard can always do with some more Priests.

Tomorrow will be another construction day and then it will be time to catch up with painting.  Time to wrestle with that Howling Griffons colour scheme.

Warhammer Imperium Catch Up

The new partworks, Warhammer Imperium, started whilst I was away   Time to crack on but what Marine Chapter shall I choose?

At the moment it's either Tome Keepers, the White Dwarf Chapter, or Howling Griffons.   I'm leaning towards the Griffons just for the visual impact of the quartered red and yellow scheme rather than the Skeleton Horde Contrast for The Keepers.

More Cultists

There are certainties in life.

Boring things like death and taxes.  Slightly more exciting is that Kirton Games doesn't let me down on orders.

Boxes like Kill Team Chelnath and two boxes of Necromunda Outcasts.

I've only built ten for now but have equipped them with an 'autogun' type rifle and a missile launcher from a Stargrave box.  The flamer is from the Les Grognards sprue.

So many choices.
