Necromunda Ridgehauler As Imperial Guard Transport

Yet another work in progress but the Ridgehauler and first trailer are underway to fill my vision of a rapid way of transporting an Praetorian platoon between warzones.  After all, not every soldier can benefit from a Chimera or a superheavy like a Stormlord.

The Taurox turrets haven't been glued into place so I can remain flexible as to which ones I use.  I do have four so each eventual trailer will be able to use one.  I also have spare Heavy Bolter and Lascannon turrets from Baneblade kits so I could change my mind and use those in the future.

First Bulldogs Section Complete

Now, they were a joy to paint.  I'm content that they aren't like my GW Praetorians.

Once another couple of sections are done, I'll be refreshing the white webbing through the use of Grey Seer paint to cover up any Contrast splashes.

I'll keep these for any eventual release of rules for Death Fields or if I'm ever involved in some generic Victorian sci-fi related games.

New Traitor Guard Squad

Another speed job completed with the aid of Contrast.

To keep with the feudal serf scheme that I originally conceived the squad as being, I have opted for a predominantly earthy, plain paint job.

Snakebite Leather is the primary colour along with Militarum Green for the helmets and armour panels and Creed Camo for trousers.  I've used Cygor Brown or Goregrunta Fur for boots and gloves and finished off with Black Templar for weapons.  Red has been use more sparingly for some tabards or neckerchiefs.

The Squad Leader uses a shotgun with more hi-tech carbines being used by the troopers.

Trial Paint Schemes

I have decided to use Contrast for the Bulldogs.  I didn't intend to paint them in the same fashion as my 40K Praetorians and any future metal Praetorians will continue to be printed in the same Redcoat, black trousers manner unless I'm inspired by any other British uniform schemes.

To that end, I'm documenting the colours I have decided to use below in case I forget if the project is drawn out.

The Bulldogs Have Arrived Pt 3

The models aren't strictly Bulldogs but the kitbashing mood was on me.

The bodies are Frostgrave Men at Arms, the weapons are Stargrave and the heads are the Bulldog WWI style helmet with gasmask.

These will okkely join the ranks of a Renegade army.  I originally envisaged them as a retinue of troops supporting Chaos Knights hence the feudal vibe from Frostgrave minis.

The Bulldogs Have Arrived Pt 2

I'd already prepped and completed the ground work for these, my take on a grimdark 40K Sudan inspired Imperial Guard Camel Corps.

I've used Les Grognard chainswords with some cutting and converting to add the hands to Bulldogs arms.

There is a slight mismatch in scale between the legs and torsos but this is due to Shieldwolf casting the camels with the legs already sculpted on.

Still, that's another tick added to the modelling bucket list.

The Bulldogs Have Arrived Pt 1

How much fun can you have in one afternoon when the delivery you've been waiting yonks for finally arrives?

The answer is, quite a bit as the next three posts will show especially when you consider this is just the first of five boxes.

Initially, I've created two sections of seven Bulldogs with pith helmets.  I'm playing the long game here and not going for full 10 strong squads as I'm waiting for the inevitable follow up Command/ Heavy box as per the Les Grognards releases.

Cup o' tea Guv'nor?  Right, that's that bit used once and never again.

Ten of the models from the first box have been kitted out as Royal Marines in Space.  Some of the Bulldogs are Paras from Arnhem hence the inclusion of berets in the kit.  These have been kitbashed with the SMG type weapon included in the Death Fields accessory sprue.

The respirator pith helmet heads have been used on the crew models for my troop transport Ridgehauler.
