Howling Griffons Stage Two Complete

As I enjoy some more time working close to home rather than here, there and everywhere, I have brought my Howling Griffons force to a natural pause.

I foresee this detachment as being more lightweight and fast moving than my Ultramarines and Silver Templars groups.

If I do move onto a Stage Three for the team, I have another squad of Outriders and an Invader ATV to add.

The more scouty elements of the team could also be expanded.

The Eliminators have Ratling Grime cloaks.

The black armour for the Reavers, Elimators and Incursors comes from some old Badab War background which indicates the Griffons will use a 'night' armour if the tactical sitiation requires it.

Ready For The 41st Millenium

Although seasoned observers will be able to mark these models out as coming from the Fantasy range, I like the fact that simple weapon swaps or adding holsters/ pouches can make them suitable for a completely different game.

Who is to say that Witchunter Hexbane can't be Inquisitor Hexbane of the Ordo Hereticus?

 

More Ratlings

These are  my least favourite version of the Imperial Guard's top sharpshooters/ light fingered tea leaves/ cooks buy seeing as I had just bought Ratling Grime Contrast, I thought I'd test it out on these models.

 Yes, I still prefer the 2nd Ed models and Victoria Miniatures revamp/ homage to those Ratlings.

Silver Templars Reinforcements

New edition,  new Marines. 

As someone who very rarely games, I had no real interest in the full Leviathan or the new Starter sets.  I would only have to sell on the Tyranid parts, the Terminators and those new flamer Marines.

The Apothecary and the Primaris Sternguard however...

As always, mileage varies but I love these particular models so decided they needed to join the Primaris only Silver Templars.

 

Hexbane's Hunters: Transported To The 41st Millenium

The title gives it away.

These models for Underworlds were just to nice to ignore.  A bit of snip snip and dip in the bits box and I now have a new Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor and retinue.

Recasted Praetorian Models

First things first.  I do not hold with recasting and the blatant copying of someone else's work.

That said, having made many second hand purchases of Praetorian models, I'd ge a fool to think my army doesn't contain some other than the instance below.

I did mention these before but someone went yo the bother of creating their own one piece plasma gunner. This is a remodelled and recast grenade launcher model.

Compare it with the original model and it can be seen that the recast model is slightly smaller and appears more scrawny than the original.

 As I said above,  I can't guarantee that all of my models are originals but none of the more standard lasrifle Guardsmen appear to be a tad runty compared to their brethren.
