The New Vindicare

As much as I enjoy the content via Warhammer+ (painting with a battle report playing in the background, catching up with Imperial Armour background books), this model may have helped swing my opinion into subbing in.

Contrast has been brought into play gain.  Black for the bodysuit in this case and Apothecary White for the statue.

A Varied Work Queue

Back at home for the weekend and it's time to catch up with some new arrivals.

The Primaris Tigurius was picked up cheap on eBay.

The Inquisitor is from the local GW's birthday and the Vindicare has turned up due to the Warhammer+ sub.  What a top model the Vindicare is as well. Not just a prime killer but a nice mini-diorama by itself.

The Vindicare will be the first one to be worked on.  It's just that good looking.*

* Opinions may vary.

Last Chancers Cannon Fodder Conversions

As I mentioned in an earlier post, the opportunities presented by the Wargames Atlantic Cannon Fodder set are legion...Penal Legion.

Having built and painted a 20 strong Penal Legion squad, I have decided to go for a 3rd Ed Last Chancers inspired Cannon Fodder squad.

Using bits from 40K, Stargrave and other WA kits, a start has been made.

So far I have from left to right, converted versions of Shiv, Hero, Scope, Demolition Man, Grease Monkey, Brains and Animal.

Shiv has an Imperial Guard plasma pistol along with a Primaris combat knife to represent his close combat weapon.

Hero has both the laspistol and rifle along with a Marine Scout scabbard to represent a sword.  The peaked cap is from the Cadian Command Squad.

Scope is armed with the sniper rifle from the Victoria Miniatures Kill Team accessory sprue.

Grease Monkey has an Imperial Guard Bolt Pistol along with a spanner hand a and spare spanner from a Stargrave set.

Demolition Man's demo charge is a spare case from a Stargrave set.

Brains is equipped with an Wargames Atlantic Einherjar Comms set and a datapad hand from Stargrave.

Animal has a Scions meltagun and a spare sword in scabbard from a Les Grognards kit.

Not constructed yet are Fingers and Ox.  For Ox I'm looking for either a suitable large figure or a smaller Heavy Bolter type weapon.  Warrior Woman and Rocket Girl will need to wait for the Cannon Fodder 2 box but I will be using one of the rocket/ missile launchers from a Stargrave set.

The Finished Karamazov

To be honest, this has become 'not my favourite' model in quick time.

From being a pig to put together to being a bot of a swine to paint, it will not be the centrepiece for any Sisters/ Ordo Hereticus army I put together.

That said, it has been finished and my curiosity has been sated although I will be eternally greatful that I didn't buy it when it was metal.

Hail The Omnissiah

I have begun the process of working through my new Adeptus Mechanicus models and aligning them with the previous units.

The new arrivals are a mixture of models obtained via the Omnissiah's Talon army box from last year and the Warhammer Imperium subscription.

I have built the alternate version of the Dominus with his Space Pope headgear.

The Vanguard and Ranger units have been upgraded to become 10 model units.  There are plenty of infanty models left in the pile of shame so the Vanguard unit may bee pumped up to full size.  Either that or the Dominus above and a unit of Vanguard may be painted up in different Forge World colours.

From the Talon box set are some of the more esoteric units such as Sicaran Infiltrators and the Pteraxii.

Due to their financial cost, I never dabbled into the Longstriders but seeing as their was one in a relatively decent value box set, I'm not complaining.
