Now I have a Baneblade!

Holiday periods can be dangerous to your bank balance and available shelf space.  After picking up the Stormlord recently, I was tempted by a second hand Baneblade (only £35) but it was lacking a turret hatch.  Being armed with a decent bits box that was no problem.

At present the tank now has a non-glued in place mash up of a spare Rhino cupola with an IG stormbolter.  Throw in a Curious Constructs tank commander and there is no doubt that he wants his Superheavy to go "Over there!"

As for the Stormlord.  The tank now has two butchered Praetorian mortar crew acting as gunners for the stubbers.  The black and grey scheme is the one I am thinking of using for three veteran squads that will form its infantry attachment.  This follows on from my previous musings that the Stormlord would have its own infantry permanently attached rather than be used by all and sundry.  As far as I'm aware there is no laid down precedent for that in the background but does it really matter?

All Hail The Omnissiah - A Side Project Completed

Having some spare slush fund available a couple of months ago, I decided to jump in with some of the new Adeptus Mechanicus.  It isn't a huge force and I found some of the cost unjustifiable so I skipped on the Robots and the Ruststalkers for now

Electro Priests - one of those marvellous sounding units featured in the 2nd Ed Codex:Pamphlet and finally making it into bovver booted glory 21 years later!

I do like the Skitarii so went for two boxes splitting them into one unit of Vanguard and two of the Rangers just to make use of all the special weapons.

The Dunecrawler, or as I think of it, an angry 1960s Apollo Moonlander given the gift of motion and big guns!

Just some finishing touches to add, complete all the AM symbols and Boom! another bunch of painted units to throw in as some IG allies.

Two Fisted Action All The Way......

You've met the majority of the troops now here comes Big Mac Daddy Marneus Calgar.

The 40K 2nd Ed model is further down the page but for sheer blinginess, you can't beat his Terminator variant with attendant Honour Guard.  I'm actually tempted to get the new Forgeworld HH Suzerain set just for more of the eagle masks but that will ultimately be dependant on the release of those HH plastics that have appeared around the tinternet AND FW having free delivery to GW stores.  I am not paying FW P&P charges!

Now I am tempted to strip these down and repaint but that's yet another project on the To Do list.

The Librarius Conclave.  I am more of a 2nd Ed Tigurius fan than his current incarnation.

The 1st Company Terminators.  One of my current off camera projects is the painting up of the built plastic Sternguard and Vanguard.  Along with those pictured above, they form a full 1st Company.

I loved this guy in 2nd Ed.  Give him a jump pack (spare Wargear card selection) and launch him into that Genestealer Brood.  Due to his fists, they didn't get a bonus for outnumbering so every combat was effectively fought one on one and if I remember correctly, Marneus was no slouch on the WS count.

Metal Vanguard and Sternguard awaiting their plastic reinforcements.

I've singled out the Terminators below as these are prepared in advance just in case standard SMs get a Terminator Command Squad.  They use a mixture of standard Terminators along with Grey Knight, Forgeworld and Wolf Guard bits.
