Papa Nurgle's Filth Spreader

As it seems like every army will now receive its own terrain piece, the Death Guard receive the Miasmic Malignifier (who thinks up these names) to spread disease and general malaise around.

This one has been undercoated with an Army painter khaki spray last used on the Praetorian Tunnelers.

I'll be breaking out the various technicals like Nurgle's Rot and the Oxode paint for this one.

The Island Priests Are Here

They really are here.

They're not far away, they're small.

They are, by far, the best comedy inspired wargames figures ever. Even better than Victoria Miniatures Monty Python inspired Inquisitors.

More Blood Pact

While I'm waiting for the Les Grognards heavy weapons and the new Death Guard bits and bobs, eBay has been my friend.

I won an auction for a junk lot of Imperial Guard and other bits which has proved to be quite the treasure trove.

Some of the legs and torsois came with green stuff tabards and so on. They add some flavour to my kit bash approach.

I'm planning on the centre model being my Captain/ Etogaur/ Mabon or whatever terminology Dan Abnett came up with.  The Boss, Le Grand Fromage could be equally valid alternatives.

The others are a mix of Cadian, Catachan, Genestealer Cultists and Northstar Cultist parts.

Fun With Contrast

As I had come to an end, or to a natural pause, over my major projects I decided to try the Contrast paints over a wide range of miniatures.

They vary from lead Rogue Trader through white metal and Finecast to modern plastic.

Another Praetorian Platoon In The Offing

As usual, there is always more to be painted.

In this case yet another 55 strong Platoon has been pulled together.  I was toying with the idea if tartan trews but I may keep that for the future Brits from Wargames Atlantic.

Standard Redcoats it is then.

More Heavy Weapon Platoons are in the offing.

Finally, seeing as Officers can be taken without Command Squads, the Taurox mounted Greenjacket veterans may get their own Boss.  I'm thinking a Richard Sharpe type conversion.  The upcoming Wargames Atlantic 95th Rifles has parts for some TV style Chosen Men so we'll see how that idea goes.

A New Imperial Guard Muster

In case anyone is wondering, that's now 566 painted Praetorians!

As one of the new additions since the last muster, the Gorgon is now integrated along with a 50 strong Platoon.  The Platoon Command Squad rides in the accompanying Chimera.

The non-mounted backbone of the army following the introduction of the Gorgon now consists of four 55 strong Platoons.

Another new addition to the role call is the full Platoon of the Camel Corps inspired troops.

I was finally able to lay my hands on another Tunneler from Mantic so the Tunneler Platoon is now fully mounted with the Command and First Squads riding in the extended Tunneler shown in the centre.

Now fully integrated as support are the Ventrillian Nobles and...

...55 not-Vostroyans courtesy of Wargames Atlantic.

Also, the small contingent of Squats.
